The Daoist Arts - part 1

For the Daoist arts like Tai Chi & Qigong, it could be seen more equivalent to a system of unlearning, possibly a practice of non-doing while yet everything is being done.

This maybe why some people find these arts challenging, they have spent an entire lifetime acquiring a certain type knowledge & doing. This type of knowledge & activity will only prevent you in the practice of 'sung' letting go, release & sink.

The more the mind is engaged in thought the more this process will be hinder & any significant progress will be impeded.

The way we move in Tai Chi is different, maybe not in it's action for example the arms out straight, rising up the front of the body would be an extension action. The action of extension relating to the arms is the same but the method of movement & the qualities within the arm are different.

Due to the way we have been programmed & educated, engaging in the outside world is completely dominant in our attention, without giving a second thought on the going's on with your inner world.

If we spend a little more time & attention, on our inner world, with non-doing (non-thought), releasing via an increased sense of awareness, then your progress & balance will be more harmonised.

Then we can happily re-engage back with the outside world, but maybe from a slightly different perspective.
