Spinal Connections

Your spine can tell you so many hidden secrets regarding your internal health and emotions.

The vast majority of nerves lead through the spinal cord, all organs and gland information is also fed via the nerves to the spinal cord.

Certain Daoist practices, allows us to absorb our mind into the spine, allowing our awareness or internal intuition to scan very slowly the sensations and qualities of the spine. This gives the practitioner the ability to identified current or past issues of their organ and gland health, enabling them to keep track on their functioning and efficiency.

So lets say an organ is deficient in qi due to some form of dis-functioning or blockage, this may show up in the corresponding disc, maybe a decrease in size and suppleness. This will automatically contract the surrounding muscle tissue to try and protect that given area, but in doing so will unfortunately close the vertebra space even further creating nerve pain or discomfort.

For example, possible Kidney issues will show up in between the lumber region of L2 - L3 and can be accessed through bladder point BL23.

Part of the bladder meridian runs either side of the spine, allowing you energetic access around that specific closed off location. So massaging or triggering that point may benefit you considerably, having a causation affect on the relevant organ.

You can also applied your Yi (mind intention) to that appropriate point, while breathing into the meridian in a certain way, which will encourage the energetic (qi) movement and possibly over time unblock the stagnate energy which has been causing you so much trouble.

Of course this is a basic run through of the possibilities that are open to you if you wish to follow a Daoist practice like Qigong/Neigong.
